Susan Gohd, LEED AP

Susan is an alumna of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Tulane University with a Master of Architecture. Art and architecture are common threads that continue to influence her creative endeavors.

As an artist (prior to architecture), Susan worked as a photographer and a stained-glass artist in New Orleans, creating contemporary glass works, including restoration projects and teaching. During this time, she participated and exhibited at the Jazz Fest and other art venues around the city.

As an architect, Susan worked briefly in New Orleans after graduating, then for many years on the West Coast, eventually moving back to NOLA in 2012. Architectural work experiences have included a wide range of project types, both domestic and international:  high-rise office, mixed-use commercial, retail, high-end residential, Native American projects, community centers and now, with AQ Studios, working on health care projects.   One of her most cherished possessions is an eagle feather, which she received as a gift from the Spokane Tribe in Washington State. 

Currently, Susan enjoys exploring the ceramic arts at Newcomb, pushing the boundaries of the clay medium, both as an architectural form for exploration and for personal expression.
