Founded on the premise that our lives are significantly impacted by the places we live, AQ Studios initially focused on the thoughtful design of individual buildings. However, we soon recognized that architecture is as much about the relationships between buildings as it is about the buildings themselves. It was through this realization that we began to see the world very differently; expanding our focus from the individual structure, to its role within a larger context.

At AQ Studios, every project is designed to establish a strong sense of place and promote social interaction through enhanced pedestrian activity. Our approach to Urban Design is rooted in the study and application of scale—a holistic exploration of the relationships that create vibrant communities. Our interdisciplinary team draws upon a wealth of experience to investigate the key components that inform successful urban design and placemaking, including connectivity, sustainability, walkability, culture, social dynamics, transportation, and economy. We deliver innovative solutions that embody smart growth principles, merging architectural strategies, landscape interventions, and multi-modal streetscapes to enhance the built environment and foster health, interaction, and economic progress.
