Austin Simpson
Designer
Austin was born in New Orleans and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he found an early interest in architecture working on home projects with his parents—from picking wall colors to ripping up and replacing floors. Those hands-on experiences sparked his appreciation for how spaces are designed, built, and lived in. He earned his Bachelor of Architectural Studies in 2022 and his Master of Architecture in 2023 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Austin has experience across both architectural and structural work, contributing to projects ranging from historic building documentation to healthcare and civic facilities. His work includes developing drawings, coordinating with consultants, documenting existing conditions through point cloud scanning, and supporting projects from early design through construction. He approaches design with a balance of creativity and practicality and enjoys being involved in all phases of a project.
Outside of the office, Austin enjoys watching movies, going to CrossFit, and trying new restaurants as a self-proclaimed foodie. He also spends time shooting film photography and developing his own film at home. He values time with friends and family and is a proud cat father—his cat Bru runs the house and generously allows Austin to live there.
"Architecture is not based on concrete and steel and the elements of soil. It's based on wonder."
- Daniel Libeskind
