Andre Simon, NCARB

Andre is a Project Architect in the Educational Studio at AQ and has years of experience in educational facilities, multi-family, single-family, and urban planning.  Andre was born and raised in Youngsville, Louisiana, and attended school at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for his B.S. in Architecture.  After completing his undergraduate studies, he made a move to San Antonio, Texas, where he gained experience in K-12 projects before pursuing his Master of Architecture and Certificate of Sustainability and High-Performance Buildings at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  After graduating he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he gained further experience in educational facilities and other project types.

Andre returned back home to the Lafayette area where he desires to bring his knowledge of leading-edge educational facilities back to the community where he came from.  He believes that everyone deserves a strong foundation in their educational studies with the tools and learning environments necessary to propel their future careers and endeavors forward.  Designing and documenting these facilities gives him a sense of purpose and the ability to be a small part of someone else’s future success in life.

Andre takes pride in being diligent and detail-oriented when it comes to the documentation of buildings.  When the opportunity arises, he enjoys leading technological efforts that can enhance office workflows and the documentation process such as point cloud creation for renovation/addition projects, BIM clash detection, and digital model processes for duplicable prototype buildings.  Having a LEED GA credential, he also enjoys advocating for high performance buildings as well as fast-track construction processes that aid in tight construction windows and building-life longevity.

Aside from being a part of the AQ team, Andre loves being a father and spending time with his wife and family.  In his spare time, he likes to be in nature, gardening, hiking, camping, cooking, making wine, and working with his hands on house projects and crafts.
