Crescent Care Mid City offered AQ Studios a unique opportunity to combine the expertise of our healthcare and historic studios in renovating this iconic 1950s modern New Orleans office building into a state-of-the-art multi-modal clinic, pharmacy, and community gathering space. Using federal and state historic tax credits, we worked closely with all stakeholders to completely, yet respectfully, transform this 33,000 SF, 4-story structure into a new flagship location for Crescent Care to expand its capacity and continue to make an impact in serving the general public’s heath and wellness needs.

The facility includes many special design features such as a new pervious paved parking lot, a replacement and efficient exterior curtain wall system, a restored marble brise soleil (sun shading building feature), a salvaged exterior granite tile facade, beautifully refinished original terrazzo floors, and exquisitely curated local art throughout. Patient rooms and employee offices feature expansive panes of glass showcasing views of the city skyline and providing for ample natural light, and are acoustically isolated for privacy. The entire clinic is capable of continuously operating in the event of a power outage.

Through careful planning and adaptive reuse of this historic building fabric, we created a safe, welcoming, and bespoke healthcare environment specifically catered to this unique site, outstanding client, and its wonderful patients.
